Summary
Redwire Space Missions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering in our Jacksonville, FL location. In this role you’ll lead and scale the Electrical Engineering functional organization supporting Space Missions programs. This role is responsible for day-to-day execution, technical leadership, and talent development across avionics, power, communications, and electrical design, while also serving as a hands-on technical contributor to programs. The Senior Manager will ensure high-quality electrical design, integration, effective cross-functional coordination, and reliable delivery of flight hardware across the Space Missions portfolio.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering functional team supporting multiple spacecraft programs, including advanced design, avionics, power systems (EPS), (RF and optical) communications, and integration.
  • Provide direct technical leadership and program support.
  • Ensure electrical designs meet performance, reliability, and mission assurance requirements across the full product lifecycle.
  • Oversee electrical architecture development, schematic and PCB design, parts selection, and interface definition for flight hardware.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering to ensure requirements traceability, design closure, and verification readiness.
  • Partner with other functions to support integration, test, and verification of electrical assemblies, units, and subsystems.
  • Drive execution of design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), resolving technical issues and ensuring readiness for integration and test.
  • Establish and maintain electrical engineering best practices, design standards, and documentation expectations.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and first-line managers, supporting technical growth, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts, technical trade studies, and customer engagements as an electrical engineering authority.
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in spacecraft or aerospace electrical engineering.
  • Experience in a technical or functional leadership role.
  • Strong technical background in spacecraft avionics, power systems, RF/communications, electrical design, or electrical subsystem integration.
  • Experience leading electrical subsystem development from concept through integration and test.
 
Desired Skills
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience as an Avionics IPT Lead, Subsystem Lead, or Responsible Engineer on spacecraft programs.
  • Experience managing or mentoring engineers or technical leads within a functional organization.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering environments, including ECAD/MCAD integration and requirements traceability tools.
  • Experience supporting government space customers or prime contractors.
  • Familiarity with applicable aerospace and spaceflight standards (e.g., NASA, MIL-STD, ECSS).
  • Active or eligible for a U.S. security clearance.
  • Ability to travel - an average of 15% travel may be required.
