Job Summary
 
Redwire Space, Inc. is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager for our Chantilly, VA office. This role is part of the Enterprise Program Management Office (PMO) and works closely with the Enterprise IT Architect to manage multiple large, complex IT projects across organizational teams. The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for full project lifecycle leadership, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and integration expectations. This position does not include responsibilities related to hiring, staff performance reviews, or business development efforts.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple large, cross-functional IT projects simultaneously, including software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and system integration initiatives.
  • Manage projects end-to-end from initiation through implementation and closeout, including scope definition, detailed planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and post-project review.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring clear communication across stakeholders, technical teams, leadership, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Enterprise IT Architect to maintain alignment with enterprise architecture standards, roadmaps, and technical governance.
  • Oversee vendor participation, including deliverable tracking, dependency coordination, and quality assurance of third-party outputs.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies; lead mitigation planning and escalation when required.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards, compliance expectations, and defined business and technical objectives.
  • Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, maintain RAID logs, and drive project accountability across workstreams.
  • Conduct post‑implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement within the PMO.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10–12 years of IT project management experience (or 8–10 with a Master’s).
  • At least 4 years managing complex projects with cross-functional or multi‑team coordination.
  • Technical experience across IT systems, infrastructure, and software development environments.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale project delivery, including hybrid or multi‑method (Agile/Waterfall) environments.
  • Experience managing relationships with technical stakeholders, business units, vendors, and PMO peers.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Some travel required. 
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

  • Partners closely with the Enterprise IT Architect and technical team managers.
