Summary
Redwire Space, Inc. is seeking an Enterprise IT Architect who will serve as the primary design authority within the PMO organization, providing strategic and technical leadership across enterprise infrastructure, end‑user services, and major IT initiatives. This role is the principal technical lead for the IT Infrastructure and Help Desk teams, guiding architectural decisions, solution design, and the implementation of complex technology solutions that align with organizational goals and standards. This individual is a recognized technical authority who operates with a high degree of autonomy and drives innovation across the IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise‑level architecture design efforts for programs and projects managed through the PMO, ensuring alignment with business needs, technology strategy, and long‑term roadmaps.
- Act as the primary technical advisor and decision-maker for infrastructure, systems, and end‑user technologies, guiding the Infrastructure and Help Desk teams in solution design and implementation.
- Support business process design by translating functional requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical architectures.
- Conduct impact analyses, system assessments, and feasibility evaluations for new initiatives or changes to existing systems.
- Lead a sub‑team of designers, engineers, and specification writers supporting architectural development, documentation, and standards creation.
- Develop test architectures, validation strategies, and technical evaluation frameworks to ensure successful deployment of new technologies.
- Foster collaboration across engineering teams, promoting knowledge sharing, mentorship, and consistent adoption of architectural standards and best practices.
- Lead or participate in technical Centers of Competence (CoE) to guide technology direction and innovation.
- Contribute to the evolution of enterprise architecture guidelines, reference architectures, integration patterns, and the overall Technology Roadmap.
- Partner with Project Managers and Program Managers to define technical scopes, ensure execution quality, and validate that deliverables meet architectural and operational expectations.
- Produce thorough project documentation including status reports, architectural diagrams, risk assessments, and issue logs.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the organization.
Leadership & Strategic Impact
- Serve as a recognized authority on complex technical problems, applying innovative thinking and deep expertise to define solutions that span systems, platforms, and operational domains.
- Provide strategic direction for enterprise technology capabilities, influencing long‑term investments and modernization efforts.
Shape organizational technical maturity by coaching engineers, improving processes, and reinforcing architectural discipline.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 10–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 8–10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure engineering, systems design, or related technical leadership roles. Willing to consider experience in lieu of education.
- Experience successfully architecting large‑scale, complex IT solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and end‑user technologies.
- Experience, with a deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, ITIL or similar operational models, and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience making high‑impact technology decisions and leading cross‑functional teams through execution.
- Some travel is required.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
