Redwire Space Solutions has an opportunity for an RF Test Engineer at our facility in Longmont, CO to operate our spherical near-field antenna test chamber. In this role, you will use the test chamber to measure performance characteristics of our antennas and apply industry standard techniques to calibrate the chamber. You will also work with the RF team to improve the antenna test chamber’s capabilities, create and maintain test chamber work instructions, and assist with various RF measurements as part of production and engineering efforts.
 
 Responsibilities
  • Operate the spherical near-field antenna test chamber in support of production and new engineering program efforts.
  • Verify the quality of the data collected and maintain test chamber quality assurance documents.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the chamber by performing chamber calibration procedures.
  • Help develop new chamber configurations for various program needs.
  • Data process test results and create plots for reports and presentations.
  • Support RF testing needs for various programs across the site.
  • Troubleshoot RF assemblies and test stations.
  • Assist with prototype electrical assemblies.
Ideal Experience
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics with 1+ years of relevant industry experience. 
  • Experience with antenna test and validation techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of antenna performance characteristics: gain, axial ratio, efficiency, etc.
  • Experience running standard RF characterization tests using test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and power meters.
  • Experience with documenting test procedures, plotting and describing test results, communicating test requirements and resolving issues.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR
 
Desired Skills
  • Experience measuring antennas in an anechoic chamber.
  • Knowledge of core RF concepts.
  • Experience testing antennas and RF electronic systems with standard RF measurement equipment.
  • Experience data processing and data collection using scripting language: Matlab, Python, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint and Teams. 
  • Ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with good verbal and written communication skills.
Salary range: $82,000 - $105,000/year

How We Determine What We Pay (compensation Philosophy) 
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. 
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
