Summary
Redwire Space Missions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Remote, Contractor - Master Project Scheduler to support complex space vehicle development programs for approximately 3 months, with the possibility of extension. This role is central to building, integrating, and maintaining program schedules that align with MIL‑STD‑881 Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and the rigorous demands of spacecraft design, integration, test, and launch operations.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in aerospace or defense programs, thrives in fast‑moving technical environments, and can translate engineering inputs into a coherent, fully integrated schedule that drives program execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and maintain program schedules aligned to MIL‑STD‑881 WBS structures.
- Build detailed schedules covering spacecraft subsystems, payloads, propulsion, GNC, mission assurance, environmental test, launch integration, and ground segment activities.
- Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and ensure alignment across engineering, supply chain, test, and mission operations.
- Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and what‑if modeling to support program decision‑making.
- Conduct regular schedule health checks using industry‑standard metrics (DCMA 14‑point, logic quality, float analysis).
- Support major program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR) with schedule products, briefings, and data packages.
- Coordinate with CAMs, IPT leads, and technical teams to ensure schedule accuracy and feasibility.
- Maintain configuration control of schedule baselines and ensure compliance with DoD reporting requirements.
- Support proposal efforts by developing compliant, resource‑informed schedules aligned to customer requirements.
- Identify schedule risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support program risk and opportunity management processes.
Ideal Experience
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining schedules for space systems, aerospace, or defense programs.
- Strong working knowledge of MIL‑STD‑881 and DoD WBS development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools.
- Experience supporting EVMS, IMS integration, and DoD program reporting.
- Ability to interpret engineering inputs and translate them into actionable schedule activities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate schedule impacts clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Must be able to travel on occasion as needed.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
Desired Skills
- Experience with spacecraft development lifecycle: design, integration, environmental test, launch prep, and mission operations.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition frameworks, mission assurance processes, and spaceflight hardware flow.
- Experience working with classified or restricted programs.
- Active DoD security clearance.
