The position responsibilities will focus on static and dynamic finite element analyses of state-of-the-art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile defense applications.  Specific products include multiple payload launch structures, deployable satellite antennas, test configurations, and spacecraft mechanisms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop system-level static and dynamic finite element models using FEMAP/NASTRAN.
  • Perform detailed stress analysis of metallic and composite structures.
  • Work closely with the mechanical design, thermal, and systems engineering teams to optimize solutions and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Review engineering designs and drawings, providing clear and actionable feedback to the Mechanical Design team.

  • Develop static and dynamic test plans, test procedures, and predictions.
  • On-site test execution, data processing, post-test model correlation, and test reporting.
  • Independently develop solutions and analysis approaches using sound engineering principles with minimal oversight.

Ideal Experience
  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • FEA experience with FEMAP and NASTRAN preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
  • Ability to travel to support milestone reviews and structural testing (<10%)

Desired Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office 365.
