Redwire is an innovative space and defense technology company driving advanced capabilities across the aerospace sector. We are looking for a leader who can contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs supporting National Security Space. This includes work spanning space domain awareness, space resiliency, mission autonomy, structures, sensors, and next‑generation space systems.
The Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining end‑to‑end software capabilities that power the company’s simulation, digital‑engineering, and mission‑system platforms. This role blends modern frontend engineering, high‑performance backend development, and systems‑level thinking to ensure that user interfaces, APIs, data pipelines, and real‑time services are coherent, scalable, secure, and aligned with mission and product objectives. You will develop advanced React interfaces, implement high‑throughput backend services in Python/C++/Rust, integrate with distributed systems and simulation workflows, and collaborate closely with systems engineers, mission analysts, UI/UX designers, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, data‑rich, and performance‑critical applications across aerospace and defense environments.
Ideal Experience
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience spanning frontend and backend development, with demonstrated ownership of production systems.
- Advanced proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and modern frontend engineering, including state management, performance profiling, and scalable UI architectures.
- Strong backend engineering skills using Python, C++, and/or Rust, with experience building APIs, microservices, simulation-adjacent services, or high‑performance backend systems.
- Experience designing and implementing GraphQL and REST APIs, including schema design, data‑layer integration, and cross‑service contract management.
- Experience working with knowledge graph or graph‑centric architectures, ideally Neo4j/DGraph/ArangoDB or similar technologies, supporting large scale data management for use in physics based simulation workflows.
- Demonstrated experience building software supporting modeling, simulation, digital engineering workflows, or data‑driven analysis platforms.
- Strong understanding of system‑level concerns: concurrency, data modeling, caching, distributed systems, and performance optimization across the stack.
- Track record of implementing comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E) and contributing to engineering best practices in CI/CD.
- U.S. Citizen; able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience developing or scaling systems involving digital twins, simulation orchestration, knowledge graphs, or digital thread architectures
- Experience building data‑intensive applications with real‑time or near–real‑time constraints, complex visualization workloads, or large‑scale simulation outputs.
- Familiarity with 3D visualization technologies (Three.js, WebGL, React Three Fiber) for rendering spacecraft configurations, trajectories, or sensor environments.
- Exposure to modeling & simulation workflows (physics‑based modeling, configuration analysis, mission design, trade‑space exploration).
- Experience developing infrastructure or internal tools used by multiple engineering teams.
- Familiarity with GPU acceleration (CUDA or equivalent) or high‑performance computing workflows (reinforced by HPC‑related email threads from your team).
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills, able to work directly with systems engineers, simulation experts, and mission analysts.
- Experience participating in manufacturing, integration, system testing, or deployment workflows for aerospace or mission systems
