We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems and Test Engineering team in Goleta, CA. In this role you will work on a variety of program tasks ranging from Requirements and Verification Management, Test Campaign Planning, Solar Array Power Management and Analysis, and Specialty Engineering (M&P, Reliability, Radiation, EEE parts, and more) roles. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes for a variety of industry and government customers.
Responsibilities

Act as the Lead S&T Engineer on a project team for satellite subsystems and components

Perform Requirements and Verification Management, including customer collaboration, requirements decomposition and flowdown

Create and maintain verification matrices (Requirements Verification Compliance Matrices)

Lead technical content and present at Systems Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)

Communicate decomposed requirements to team functional roles (Design, Analysis, Manufacturing, Quality, etc)

Develop program-level verification plans and coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams

Develop solar array subassembly acceptance and qualification test plans based on requirements verification strategies and Acceptance Campaign scope

Manage Systems Engineering documentation including Specs, SOWs, SDRLs, Test Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports

Support hardware integration and testing across all levels of assembly (component, EDU, Qual, and Flight)

Evaluate test data, assess compliance, and generate verification reports

Serve as technical point of contact for external / offsite test facilities
- Perform EEE component selection, derating, lifetime, and failure analysis
- Conduct reliability, FMECA, lifecycle, and PMPL analyses
- Perform radiation analysis and coordinate radiation test activities
- Prepare technical review packages and present results to management and customers
- Collaborate with Program Management on risk, schedule, and verification status
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years
- Strong foundation in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or systems engineering
- Ability to work independently and apply engineering principles with minimal oversight
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Visa sponsorship not available)
Desired Skills
- Experience working on spacecraft hardware or spaceflight systems
- Experience developing, managing, and decomposing requirements and verification methods
- Experience creating test plans and leading hardware test campaigns
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (JAMA, DOORS)
- Basic proficiency in CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, ProE)
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools
- Experience with electrical test support equipment and instrumentation
- Knowledge of space hardware materials, processes, and qualification pathways
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range
$110,000 - $150,000/yr.
How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
