Summary
 
As an Intern for our 2026 Summer Internship Program located at our facility in Jacksonville, FL, you would support the analysis of materials exposed to extreme environmental conditions under the direction of a materials scientist. The intern would gain hands-on experience with materials testing techniques.  The intern would complete test plans as written and generate test reports to summarize findings. The intern will also gain valuable experience in managing a custom material property database referenced in spacecraft design.
 
Duration of Internship is 12 weeks, summer of 2022.
 
Responsibilities
  • Projects will focus on:
    • Operating environmental exposure testing hardware
    • Operating materials characterization equipment
    • Writing test reports
    • Updating a materials properties database
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Material Science or Engineering related field
  • Familiarity with materials testing techniques
  • Experience working in a lab environment
Desired Skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with technical writing
