We have a current opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Goleta, CA. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is the tip of the spear for leading program level manufacturing. In this role you will be responsible for organizing and documenting the manufacturing scope for programs, leading the creation of new manufacturing processes and work instructions, and providing feedback for the design of ground support equipment (GSE).
Responsibilities
- Set up product lines including layout, capacity planning, work instructions, tooling, and equipment.
- Oversee production planning and execution
- Ensure manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
- Identify and implement best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and manage KPI's.
- Train staff in new and existing manufacturing procedures.
- May act as lead for technicians and other manufacturing engineers.
- Anticipate, plan for production problems, and resolve them with minimal delay and minimal direction.
- Write activity and project reports; develop action plans, test procedures, and other documentation to support production operations.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances, include writing all rework instructions and dispositions.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve issues.
Ideal Experience
- B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering or other engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Manufacturing Engineering field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the aerospace/space field.
- Experience in RCCA methodology
- Background/understanding of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design.
- Ability to setup and design a process including selection and sequencing of steps.
- Technical writing skills.
- Ability to develop and execute solutions to technical problems of high scope/complexity.
- Project management skills and ability to work to a schedule and budget.
- Ability to travel - an average of 10-15% travel may be required. Most of the travel is local but some overnight travel may be required.
- Proficient with SolidWorks.
- US Citizen or Green Card holder (Visa sponsorship not accepted).
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with solar arrays in an aerospace field.
- Proficiency with Visio and MS Project.

Pay range: $109,000- $144,000 per year

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
