With many more exciting projects on the horizon our team could use your curiosity, passion, talent and experience to help us Build Above.  We have a current opportunity for a Electronics Technician III to join our team in Goleta, CA. The Electronics Technician III performs technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, proto-type models or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital and/or video type circuits and logic systems. Conducts engineering/ development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in general research work. Diagnoses and corrects electronic circuitry malfunctions. Assists in the development of electronic equipment. Provides design details and recommends modifications to engineering designs as needed. May prepare instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and systems. a possibility of up to 10% travel based on program needs.

 

Fabrication and validation of critical flight hardware, including mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and flight Ground Support Equipment; per associated flight drawings, procedures, quality standards and internal training.

· Assist engineers in flight / prototype hardware manufacture / test infrastructure development, documentation of assembly, test procedures and other specified tasks.

· Identify and communicate non-conformances to engineering and quality assurance.

· Work with facilities and maintenance to ensure that production equipment is maintained and repaired in a timely manner.

· Work with manufacturing engineering to optimize manufacturing orders and ensure process instructions are understood.

 

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent plus advanced training.

· Current Solder, Harnessing/Crimping certification to J or NASA-Standards. (IPC J-STD-001 with space applications electronic hardware)

· At least 4 years prior experience working in an Aerospace manufacturing setting in a similar position.

· Strong electronic aptitude, good fabrications skills and general shop experience.

· Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office 365.

· Ability to lead others in work centers with minimal supervision as a subject matter expert

· Strong communication and organization skills.

· Ability to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

· Ability to reach with hands and arms.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

· US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations
 

· Ability to work from diagrams, drawings, and detailed procedures.

· Expert at operating electrical and nonelectrical manufacturing equipment.

· Expert with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools.

· Expert in working with adhesives, chemical cleaners, coating materials and other commonly used chemicals used in manufacturing.

· Ability to take direction from multiple sources and manage time to meet daily milestones as well as satisfy longer term commitments to support projects.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.  Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
