Redwire Space is seeking a Space Missions Operations and Strategy Fellow through the DoD SkillBridge Program for up to six months in our Chantilly, VA office. This role is ideal for a transitioning military officer with significant experience in space operations, mission strategy, or senior-level planning within the National Security Space enterprise.
 
Redwire is an innovative space and defense technology company driving advanced capabilities across the aerospace sector. We are looking for a leader who can contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs supporting National Security Space. This includes work spanning space domain awareness, space resiliency, mission autonomy, structures, sensors, and next‑generation space systems.
 
In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering and program teams to shape new operational concepts for missions from VLEO through cislunar space, and support research and development efforts that deliver game‑changing capabilities for our customers. You will also help develop strategic frameworks, mission analyses, and executive‑level products that inform Redwire's leadership and customer engagements.
 
Responsibilities:
• Support spacecraft mission operations concept development, strategic planning, and integration of operational requirements into engineering solutions.
• Contribute to mission analyses and operational concepts for VLEO, GEO, and cislunar environments.
• Develop strategy frameworks, written assessments, and alternative courses of action that evaluate mission utility and probability of success.
• Prepare executive‑level materials including memos, briefs, presentations, and models to communicate technical and non‑technical insights.
• Collaborate across engineering, strategy, and program teams to advance mission autonomy, space domain awareness, and space superiority initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of emerging DoD and IC space trends, threats, and technology advancements.
• Support a range of projects involving operational analysis, strategy development, and modeling and simulation activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Active military transitioning out of military service
 
Ideal Experience:
• US citizenship required.
• Experience working with DoD and/or IC partners.
• Strong desire to grow professionally within the National Security Space sector.
• Demonstrated leadership in strategy development, operational planning, or mission design.
• Ability to clearly present complex project information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
 
Desired Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Broad experience across operational planning, strategy development, modeling, simulation, or mission analysis.
• Familiarity with National Security Space market trends, programs, and emerging technologies.
• Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to research and assess new capabilities, technologies, and mission applications.
