Redwire Space Inc. is seeking a Knowledge Manager to strengthen and mature the enterprise knowledge architecture that supports operational excellence across the organization.
 
This role will lead the structured organization of documentation, improve SharePoint usability and consistency, and drive alignment across business units regarding how information is categorized, maintained, and accessed.
Taxonomy and classification structures currently exist across multiple platforms and functions. This role will partner closely with IT and functional leaders to assess existing structures, identify inconsistencies, and recommend practical improvements that enhance cohesion across systems and repositories.
 
The Knowledge Manager will play a central role in creating and reinforcing documentation standards, improving discoverability, and promoting disciplined information management practices across the enterprise.
 
This is an onsite position based in Chantilly, Virginia.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with IT and functional leaders to assess existing taxonomy, metadata labeling practices, and content structures across enterprise platforms, recommending improvements that increase alignment and clarity.
  • Support enterprise data labeling and metadata consistency efforts by reinforcing established standards and promoting disciplined classification practices within documentation repositories.
  • Proactively drive the strategic enhancement and optimization of SharePoint architecture, including refining site structure, document libraries, navigation, and search functionality. Partner with IT to ensure scalability, governance alignment, and positive user experience.
  • Strengthen enterprise documentation practices by improving organization, version control, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Operational Excellence to refine the corporate policy and procedure framework, improving clarity, accessibility, and usability.
  • Reduce duplication and fragmentation by establishing and maintaining authoritative content repositories.
  • Partner with subject matter experts across functional areas to organize and structure critical documentation.
  • Promote adoption of standardized documentation and information management practices across business segments
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in knowledge management, information architecture, enterprise documentation governance, or content management.
  • Demonstrated experience improving SharePoint structure and usability.
  • Experience collaborating with IT on taxonomy alignment, metadata practices, or enterprise information architecture initiatives.
  • Experience working within structured governance environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive standardization across distributed or multi-site organizations.
  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle management and access controls.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, engineering, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.
