Summary

The Business Development Manager will lead the identification, development and capture of new business opportunities for Redwire Space Europe across commercial, institutional and governmental markets. Based in Luxembourg, this role will serve as the key interface between customers, strategic partners and Redwire’s engineering and leadership teams. Operating within a small, agile and entrepreneurial organisation backed by the resources and global reach of Redwire, the successful candidate will be responsible for building and expanding a robust sales pipeline, establishing strategic partnerships, and developing strong customer relationships across Europe and beyond. Combining commercial acumen with technical understanding, the Business Development Manager will translate customer needs into compelling business opportunities, articulate the value of Redwire’s robotics, mechanisms and software-enabled space technologies, and contribute to the company’s growth strategy. Success in this role requires the ability to build trusted relationships across the European and international space ecosystem, work autonomously, navigate complex stakeholder environments, identify emerging market opportunities, influence business and product direction through market insight, and drive opportunities from initial engagement through to contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the business development strategy for Redwire Space Europe, driving sustainable growth across commercial, institutional and governmental markets.
  • Build, maintain and expand a qualified sales pipeline, proactively creating new opportunities through market engagement, customer development, partnership initiatives and new routes to market.
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with customers, partners, agencies, integrators and industry primes, establishing partnerships that enhance market access and generate new business opportunities.
  • Lead the development and capture of opportunities from initial customer engagement through qualification, proposal development, negotiation and contract award.
  • Engage customers to understand their operational and business challenges, translating requirements into compelling value propositions and commercial solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, programme management and product teams to ensure customer insights and market intelligence inform product roadmaps and strategic decision-making.
  • Leverage the wider Redwire organisation, capabilities and customer network to maximise synergies, accelerate growth and strengthen market positioning.
  • Maintain effective CRM management, opportunity forecasting and business development reporting, while representing Redwire at industry events, conferences and customer engagements.

Ideal Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, strategic partnerships, sales or market development within the space, aerospace, defence or other high-technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing customer relationships, generating new business opportunities and contributing to the successful capture of commercial and institutional programmes in complex B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with commercial, institutional and governmental stakeholders across international markets, including the development of strategic partnerships, consortiums or collaborative business relationships.
  • Experience working with the European Space Agency (ESA), European Commission programmes, national space agencies or related institutional customers.
  • Experience working in dynamic, growth-oriented or entrepreneurial environments requiring a high degree of initiative, autonomy
  •  Strong communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English is a must
  • Ability to understand complex technical solutions and communicate their commercial value effectively to customers, partners and internal stakeholders.

Desired Skills

  • Existing network within the European space ecosystem, including agencies, primes, operators, research organisations and emerging space companies.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, bid activities and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both commercial and technical audiences.
  • Fluency in French and/or German.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to build new business opportunities, work independently, prioritise effectively and operate successfully in a small, fast-moving organisation.
  • Experience influencing business strategy, product roadmaps or investment decisions through customer and market insight.
